Dr. Xavier Capó Fiol is a Lecturer and researcher at the University of Balearic Islands, affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology under the School of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences. He is a member of the Research Group on Community Nutrition and Oxidative Stress (NUCOX), Flow Injection and Trace Analysis (FI-TRACE), and Interdisciplinary Ecology (ECOINT).
His research focuses on exercise-induced oxidative stress, inflammatory markers, and pollution biomarkers in marine organisms. He has collaborated on five research projects, contributed to a European-patented innovation, and published 37 original manuscripts and 3 book chapters. He has presented 33 communications at congresses and served as a reviewer for Environmental Pollution and Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise.
Dr. Capó has taught courses in Biochemistry, Food Biochemistry, and Nutrition at both undergraduate (Biology, Biochemistry) and Master's (Food and Human Nutrition) levels since 2017. His teaching spans degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, and Physiotherapy, with active involvement in laboratory and integrated chemistry courses.
