Xavier Bresson

Xavier Bresson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS) within the School of Computing. His research focuses on Graph Deep Learning, a novel framework merging graph theory and neural networks to address complex data domains.

• Awarded the prestigious USD 2M NRF Fellowship in 2017 (Singapore's largest individual grant) to develop this framework.
• Secured additional research grants in the United States and Hong Kong.
• Co-authored the 10th most cited paper at NeurIPS, significantly advancing graph deep learning techniques.

Research Interests encompass Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Graph Neural Networks, Sparse Convex Optimization, and Spectral Graph Theory. His work bridges theoretical and applied domains, with applications in structured data analysis.

Academic Leadership includes organizing the 2022 "Learning on Graphs" conference, IPAM'23 workshops on "Learning and Emergence in Molecular Systems", and tutorials at NeurIPS, CVPR, and SIAM. He has taught courses like CS5242 Neural Networks and Deep Learning and CS5284 Graph Machine Learning since 2014.
