Wouter Wilson is a part-time Assistant Professor in the Orthopaedic Biomechanics group at TU/e, where he supervises PhD students in biomechanics and finite element modeling. His research examines cartilage mechanics, orthopedic implants, and tissue engineering solutions.
He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and PhD from TU/e, with previous industry experience at GKN/Fokker Landing Gear as Engineering Manager. Current research focuses on computational biomechanics of spinal interventions, biomaterial development, and implant optimization.
Publications demonstrate expertise in patient-specific modeling, mechanical testing of engineered tissues, and implant performance analysis. Research consistently addresses clinical translation challenges in orthopedics through experimental and computational approaches.
Currently at Sioux Technologies as Senior Group Lead while maintaining academic affiliations.
