Wooli Bae

Dr. Wooli Bae is Lecturer in Experimental Soft Matter Physics at the University of Surrey's School of Mathematics and Physics. He holds a PhD in Physics from KAIST and completed postdoctoral research at LMU Munich and Imperial College London.

Research focuses on nucleic acid nanotechnology, including DNA origami, RNA-based synthetic circuits, and single-molecule biophysics. Work enables programmable biomolecular systems for applications in sensing, drug delivery, and synthetic biology.

Developed innovative methods including RNA-based toggle switches, handhold-mediated strand displacement, and evanescent field techniques for fluorophore analysis.
