Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Nejdl is a C4 Professor of Computer Science at Leibniz University Hannover, where he has held his position since 1995. He serves as the Head of the Institute for Distributed Systems / Knowledge-Based Systems and is the Managing Director of the L3S Research Center. Additionally, he is the Spokesperson of the Board of Directors for the Lower Saxony Center for AI & Causal Methods in Medicine (CAIMed).
His research spans Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Search and Information Retrieval, Social Web and Social Media, Technology-Enhanced Learning, and the application of Causal Methods in clinical decision support. At CAIMed, he focuses on developing models that leverage both statistical and causal relationships to improve personalized healthcare solutions.
Nejdl leads the AI & Causality Group at the L3S Research Center and CAIMed, contributing to the integration of AI methods in medicine. His work aims to address global healthcare challenges by connecting research in AI, data-intensive medicine, and medical informatics.
