Winston Hampel

Winston Hampel serves as Professor of Interior Architecture at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences since 2022, specializing in Experimental Interior Construction, Repurposing and Design. His academic career spans multiple prestigious institutions including Architectural Association in London where he served as Unit Master: Intermediate 10 (2015-2023), and teaching positions at Hochschule München, Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, Bartlett School of Architecture, and University of Westminster.

His research interests focus on experimental approaches to interior architecture, spatial production methodologies, and architectural theory. Hampel explores the intersection of historical context with contemporary design challenges, particularly in repurposing existing structures and creating innovative spatial experiences. His work bridges academic theory with practical application through numerous creative projects.

Hampel's creative output shows consistent exploration of spatial narratives across various contexts including retail environments, museum installations, urban interventions, and speculative architecture. As founder of CPWH (established 2018) with Caroline Perret, Hampel has produced numerous significant works including Orko (Nuremberg, 2022), MUC Schmuck (Munich City Museum, 2021), and Tableau Vivant (Kronprinzenpalais Berlin, 2018). His academic background includes a postgraduate History and Critical Thinking MA from Architectural Association London (2013-2014) and architecture studies at Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (2006-2012).
