Dr. Wim Van Mierlo is a Senior Lecturer in English at Loughborough University, serving as Programme Lead for English. He holds a PhD in English from the University of Miami and has over 25 years of experience in higher education across the USA, Belgium, and the UK. His academic roles include outgoing President of the European Society for Textual Scholarship (2016-2024) and former editor of Variants, the Society's journal. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the James Joyce Quarterly and advisory editor for Oxford University Press's The Collected Works of Wyndham Lewis.
Van Mierlo's research focuses on modernist literature, textual scholarship, and digital humanities. He led the AHRC-funded 'WISE: What is Scholarly Editing?' project (2014-15) and has published extensively on James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, and T. Sturge Moore. His expertise includes literary manuscripts, archival heritage, and the history of the book. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
