Wilson Poon

Wilson Poon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto's Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco, in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.

His research focuses on integrating materials science and biology to advance nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems, with expertise in

• Drug delivery
• Genome editing
• Nanomaterials

He is an active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), and his work has been published in high-impact journals such as Nature Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, and PNAS.
