Wilson Majee

Wilson Majee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Missouri’s School of Health Professions. His work focuses on sustainable community health initiatives in resource-limited settings, using a socioecological framework to address health disparities, immigrant health, and rural development.

Majee’s research bridges community leadership development and health promotion. He investigates factors contributing to youth disengagement (NEET status), emphasizing mentorship, education, and poverty alleviation. His projects include HIV self-management interventions in rural South Africa and studies on vaccine hesitancy among African Americans.

His recent publications analyze the mental health of Malawian immigrants during the pandemic, innovative youth engagement methodologies, and systemic barriers faced by marginalized populations. These works highlight themes of equity, socioecological frameworks, and participatory action research.
