William Young

William Young, also known as Bboy WillDaPill, is a Lecturer at the University of Rochester. He graduated with a BA in Economics in 2015 and has since dedicated himself to teaching and preserving breaking/hip-hop culture through his roles as educator and community leader.

As founder and president of the UR Breaking Club, he developed and taught his own curriculum on breaking and hip-hop philosophy. His career progressed to teaching assistant for DAN188, culminating in his current full-fledged instructor status. William emphasizes the hip-hop principles of "Peace, Love, Respect, Having Fun" while adhering to the cultural mandate of "Each One, Teach One" for intergenerational knowledge transfer.

William actively engages with the breaking community through national competitions with crews like Free Minds Crew, Free Range Funk, and Collective Conscious. He integrates cultural immersion experiences from traveling across the country into his pedagogical approach.
