Fr. William Reiser is a Professor in the Religious Studies Department at the College of the Holy Cross, on leave until Fall 2025. He has been teaching theology since 1978, focusing on courses such as 'Understanding Jesus' (based on Mark’s Gospel) and 'Teología Andina', which includes fieldwork in Bolivia. He also teaches 'Defense Against the Dark Arts', exploring hope and imagination through J.K. Rowling's works.

His research interests include New Testament Theology, Christology, Christian Spirituality, and Systematic Theology, with a focus on Andean culture and Catholic social doctrine. He has conducted extensive fieldwork in Bolivia, integrating theology with cultural studies.
Fr. Reiser authored Jesus in Solidarity with His People: A Theologian Looks at Mark, reflecting his engagement with biblical scholarship and pastoral theology.
He collaborates with Latin American, Latinx, & Caribbean Studies and Catholic Studies programs at the College.
