William Rearick, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He provides clinical care at UNC Hospitals and UNC Health Children's with dual expertise in adult and pediatric hospital medicine.
Dr. Rearick earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Mathematics with Summa Cum Laude honors from UNC Chapel Hill in 2008, followed by his MD in 2013 and MPH in Health Care and Prevention in 2012, all from UNC Chapel Hill. He completed his Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the University of Michigan in 2017 and maintains dual board certification in both specialties.
His research spans Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, medical education, and quality improvement. His scholarly work shows an evolution from molecular biology research in cancer signaling pathways to clinical medicine and health services research. Recent publications focus on pediatric case reports and screening program evaluation, while earlier work explored HER4 signaling in cancer development.
