William Perkison

William Perkison, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences, with a joint appointment in the Department of Family Medicine at UT Health. His work focuses on improving participation in diabetes prevention programs and enhancing climate change-related disaster preparedness for employers and communities. He also conducts research on heat stress prevention and safe restoration of post-flood buildings, while maintaining a clinical practice at the Bayshore UT Physicians clinic.

• Education: MD from UTMB Galveston, MPH from Baylor College of Medicine.
• Experience: U.S. Navy General Medical Officer, international corporate occupational medicine, director of an occupational medicine department in a tertiary care health system.
• Research Interests: Diabetes prevention, climate change adaptation, environmental health interventions, and community resilience.
