William Pearce

William Pearce, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences at the University of South Alabama School of Medicine. His research focuses on developmental cardiovascular biology, particularly cerebrovascular mechanisms in fetal, newborn, and adult models under hypoxic conditions.

• Education: PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (1979); BS from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (1974).
• Research: Investigates postnatal maturation of vascular contractility and relaxant mechanisms, epigenetic regulation in vascular development, and hypoxia-induced adaptations.
