William O'Brien

William O'Brien is a Professor and holder of the CT Wells Professorship in Project Management at The University of Texas at Austin's Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering. His expertise spans construction engineering, project management, and advanced technologies in infrastructure development. He has contributed extensively to research on project delivery methods, supply chain management, and the integration of IoT and digital twins in construction.

Education: O'Brien holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Stanford University, 1998), two Master's degrees from Stanford (1994 and 1992), and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Columbia University (1991). His technical interests include production systems, computer-integrated construction, smart manufacturing, and sustainable highway planning.
