William Lang is a Professor at the University of South Florida's College of Education. His work focuses on teacher performance assessment, including dispositions, knowledge, and skills, and he has developed instruments to evaluate teacher collaboration, communication, and parent engagement. Lang is a leader in applying the Rasch model of item response theory to educational measurement, particularly for teacher assessment, preschool readiness, and literacy.
He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on educational testing and research design, and co-authored a book on teacher disposition assessment. Lang has professional experience in public school and university systems across South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
