About
William Henry is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Michigan State University. He currently serves as Associate Chairperson of the department. His research focuses on understanding transcription mechanisms of human small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes, particularly the role of the snRNA-activating protein complex (SNAPc) in transcription by RNA polymerases II and III.
Dr. Henry earned his Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Canada, and completed postdoctoral training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York. His lab investigates how SNAPc communicates with other transcription factors to regulate gene expression processes.
Research interests include molecular mechanisms of transcription initiation, RNA polymerase specificity, and regulatory pathways governing snRNA biogenesis. Current studies explore SNAPc's dual functionality with different polymerases and its role in transcriptional communication networks.
