William Gough

William Gough is a Professor in the Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough. His research spans climate science, oceanography, and applied climatology, focusing on global and regional climate change impacts, numerical modeling, air quality, and urban climate dynamics.

He has contributed to understanding day-to-day temperature variability, hurricane-climate links, and nature-based solutions for climate resilience.

Recent publications examine sea ice dynamics, urbanization effects on precipitation, and climate model validation. His work integrates indigenous knowledge and environmental change, with applications to policy and risk assessment.
