William G. Ferrell

Dr. William G. Ferrell is the Fluor International Supply Chain Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at Clemson University's Department of Industrial Engineering. His research focuses on supply chain logistics, warehouse operations modeling, and systems design. He holds a Fellow distinction from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IISE).

• BA in Physics, Wake Forest University (1977)
• MS in Nuclear Science and Engineering, Virginia Tech (1979)
• PhD in Operations Research, North Carolina State University (1989)

His research explores advanced supply chain systems, including perishable product distribution, intermodal logistics, and optimization algorithms. Recent work emphasizes policy-driven logistics frameworks and sustainable supply chain design. His publications span journals like European Journal of Operational Research and International Journal of Production Research.

Awards: Fellow of IISE (2023).

Advising & Editorial Roles: Editor of IIE Transactions and Computer & Industrial Engineering. Serves on editorial boards of Computers & Operations Research and other journals.
