William Fearon, MD is a Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) and Chief of the Interventional Cardiology Section at Stanford University School of Medicine, as well as Chief of Cardiology at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. He graduated from Dartmouth College and earned his MD from Columbia University. His research focuses on coronary physiology, including the FAME trials and development of the Index of Microcirculatory Resistance (IMR). He leads major clinical trials in interventional cardiology and heart transplantation, with over 350 publications. Awards include Fellowship in the American College of Cardiology and election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
