Dr. William Farr is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Cambridge and Fellow of St. Edmund's College. With 20 years' prior experience as a primary teacher and SENCO, his research now focuses on autism diagnostics, digital assessment tools, and neurodiversity.
Farr collaborates across healthcare and university sectors to improve autism diagnostic pathways, developing digital innovations like the Pirates Autism Assessment App. His work examines quality-of-life measures for autistic students and virtual reality therapies for neurodevelopmental conditions.
As NHS England advisor and policy contributor, Farr helps shape national autism assessment frameworks. His research evaluates diagnostic service models, parent perspectives on care pathways, and technology-enabled interventions.
