William Fraser is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on perinatal diseases, including preterm birth and gestational hypertension, using epidemiological models to improve therapeutic methods and reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.
He supervises doctoral and master’s students in projects related to environmental contaminants, maternal nutrition, mental health in conflict zones, and gestational outcomes. Current research initiatives include collaborations with the Azrieli Research Center at CHU Sainte-Justine.
His work is funded by grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and other agencies, with projects spanning maternal-child health interventions, epigenetics, and migrant maternity care.
