Will Wittig is Professor of Architecture and Community Development at the University of Detroit Mercy's School of Architecture. He served as Dean of the School of Architecture & Community Development from 2011-2019, overseeing academic programs and the Detroit Collaborative Design Center. Professor Wittig holds an M.Arch from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a B.Arch from the University of Kansas. His professional experience includes teaching at the University of Michigan's Taubman College as a William A. Oberdick Fellow and serving as founding partner of Crossings Architecture, Inc. in Detroit.
His research focuses on architectural design, professional practice, public interest design, community development, sustainable/green design, construction, fabrications, structures, and design/build methodologies. He actively participates in professional boards including the Detroit City of Design Stewardship Board.
