Will Montgomery is a Reader and Research Fellow in the Department of English at Royal Holloway, University of London. He is affiliated with the Poetics Research Centre and the 20th and 21st Century Literature and Theory Group. His research focuses on contemporary poetry, sound art, modernism, and avant-garde practices. He holds a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London, and has taught at institutions including Queen Mary and Southampton University.
Montgomery’s teaching includes courses on poetry, modernist literature, and interdisciplinary studies. His publications include The Poetry of Susan Howe and co-edited volumes such as Frank O'Hara Now. He has released sound art CDs and collaborates with artists like Carol Watts. His recent projects include the Walking in Air initiative and contributions to the Nature and Other Forms of that Matter research project.
- Awards: Marjorie Thompson Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement (1999).
- Grants: RCUK Research Fellowship in Contemporary Poetry and Poetics (2006–2011).
