Wilfried Franzen

Wilfried Franzen is a Scientific Staff member and Publications Coordinator at the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO), focusing on transnational cultural history from 1300 to 1570. He contributes to the GWZO publication series and the Handbook on the History of Art in East Central Europe.

His educational background includes art history studies at the universities of Trier, Reading, and Bamberg, culminating in a 2000 PhD from the Technical University of Berlin on pictorial narrative in 15th-century panel painting.
