Whitney H. Mitchell

Dr. Whitney H. Mitchell is a board-certified psychiatrist and Associate Program Director in Graduate Medical Education at the University of the Incarnate Word. With over two decades of clinical experience, she specializes in treating anxiety, mood disorders, trauma recovery, and relationship-focused mental health care, while serving as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

• Education: MD from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, BS in Genetics (4.0 GPA) from Texas A&M University.

Her research interests span psychiatry, psychotherapy, and community health education, informed by her work in underserved populations during medical school. She has received accolades for clinical and academic excellence, including induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
