Wesley Pyke is a Post Graduate Researcher and Associate Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Kent, currently pursuing his PhD in Cognitive Psychology/Neuropsychology under the supervision of Dr. Amir-Homayoun Javadi and Professor David Wilkinson.
His research centers on cognitive neuroscience with emphasis on learning mechanisms and long-term retention. Key interests include:
- Non-pharmacological cognitive enhancement through physical exercise and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS)
- Retrieval-based learning techniques and their neural correlates
- Cognitive load theory and EEG analysis of task-difficulty oscillations
Pyke serves as Associate Lecturer for Stage 1 Study Skills modules (PSYC3010/PSYC3020) and concurrently works as a Research Assistant on a Ménière's Society-funded project since September 2021, investigating psychological comorbidities in vestibular disorders to establish standardized clinical assessment pathways.
