Weronika Goraj

Dr. Weronika Goraj is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Environmental Chemistry, affiliated with the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. Her academic career is centered on biotechnology and environmental chemistry research.

Education: She completed her doctoral dissertation titled Ectoine production by methanotrophs isolated from the surroundings of the Wieliczka salt deposits in 2018, supervised by Prof. Zofia Stępniewska.

Research Interests: Dr. Goraj focuses on microbial biotechnology, extremophile organisms, and biochemical processes in saline environments. Her work bridges biotechnology with environmental chemistry, exploring sustainable bioproducts from methanotrophic bacteria.
