Dr. Wengui Huang is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Teesside University's SCEDT Engineering School, specializing in geotechnical engineering and infrastructure resilience. He holds Chartered Engineer status (CEng) from ICE and PWI, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His academic journey includes a BEng from Lanzhou University (China) and a PhD from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), focusing on unsaturated soil mechanics. Prior to academia, he worked as a geotechnical engineer at Arup on major infrastructure projects like the Changi Airport Inter Terminal Tunnels and Jakarta MRT Phase 2. He also served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Newcastle (Singapore) and as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds for the EPSRC-funded ACHILLES programme.
