About
Weng Ruixia is a Full-time Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Biochemistry, Academia Sinica, based in Room 704. Her research focuses on inflammation regulation, hepatokine signaling, and drug mechanisms, particularly the liver's role in secreting anti-inflammatory cytokines like GDF15 in response to colchicine. She explores how drugs modulate liver-immune cell interactions and the balance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory signals.
Her work has significant implications for clinical treatment strategies in inflammation-related diseases and chemotherapy resistance. Current projects include systems-level analysis of drug actions and translational research on inflammation management. She has published in eLife, Nature Metabolism, PNAS, and other high-impact journals, often collaborating with experts like Timothy Mitchison and Kevan Koch.
Her articles highlight themes in inflammation biology, hepatokine signaling, and pharmacological interventions, with a focus on liver-immune crosstalk and systems approaches to drug mechanisms.
She utilizes advanced facilities at Academia Sinica, including recombinant protein expression systems, biophysics tools, and bioinformatics platforms.
Weng holds a PhD in Biochemistry from National Yang-Ming University (2006-2013) and a Master's from National Taiwan University (2003-2005). She conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School (2014-2021) and Academia Sinica (2014).
