Wendy Van den Broeck

Wendy Van den Broeck is a Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Communication Sciences. Her work focuses on media innovation, digital youth work, data literacy, and the ethical implications of algorithmic systems. She leads strategic initiatives like the SRP-Onderzoekszwaartepunt on algorithm-driven media industries and coordinates EU-funded projects such as TransMIXR, exploring immersive media technologies.

Education: Master's thesis on digital public broadcasting, supervised by Prof. Christophe Pauwels. Research interests span digital inclusion, VR evaluation, and prosumer dynamics in media. She has co-authored over 200 publications and secured grants totaling millions in funding for interdisciplinary projects.
