Dr. Wendy Thompson is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Division of Dentistry at the University of Manchester, focusing on urgent dental care and antimicrobial resistance. She leads the FDI World Dental Federation’s antimicrobial stewardship program and chairs its task team on preventing AMR and infections. Her research spans Sub-Saharan Africa, addressing noma and antibiotic overprescribing. She holds adjunct roles at Cardiff University and Universitas Airlangga, alongside leadership in organizations like the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy and the College of General Dentistry.
