About
Professor Wendy Moncur leads the Cybersecurity Group at the University of Strathclyde's Faculty of Science, Department of Computer & Information Sciences. Her research focuses on human factors in cybersecurity, trust, identity, privacy, and security, with interdisciplinary collaborations in law, psychology, and design. She previously worked in fintech, utilities, and manufacturing as a database designer, analyst, and programmer.

Her research explores privacy challenges during life transitions (e.g., illness, relationship breakdowns) and develops adaptive privacy-enhancing technologies like 'Risk Playgrounds' and 'Transition Guardians.' Key projects include AP4L (2022–2025) and REPHRAIN (2023–2024), funded by EPSRC and involving partners like RBS, Facebook, and the BBC.
She received the Top 10 IRIS 2022 LexisNexis Best Paper Award and actively engages in professional activities as an examiner, speaker, and collaborator on AI ethics and cybersecurity training initiatives.
