Wendy Johnson is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the Center for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology. She previously worked as a consulting casualty actuary in the San Francisco Bay Area and co-founded Pacific Actuarial Consultants in 1991.
- Education: Ph.D. in Psychology (University of Minnesota, 2005); B.Sc. in Mathematics (Occidental College, Los Angeles).
Her research focuses on the structure of intelligence and personality, genetic/environmental influences on cognitive ability, academic achievement, and aging-related psychological outcomes. She explores how cognitive traits interact with health and well-being over the lifespan.
As Editor of the European Journal of Personality, she contributes to advancing understanding in individual differences and cognitive epidemiology.
She is part of networks studying inequality, with disciplinary expertise in Psychology, Genetics, and Cognitive Neuroscience.
