Dr. Wendy Foote is Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Newcastle. She holds a Ph.D. examining child sexual abuse allegations in family courts from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Social Work from the same institution. Her research investigates child welfare systems, family inclusion practices, kinship care models, and ethical dimensions of social work.
Current projects focus on NGO-government funding relationships, outcomes-based contracting impacts, and family inclusion in child protection decisions. She brings extensive practice experience from child welfare agencies including leadership roles at the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies.
