Wendy Dugan is a full-time Lecturer in the School of Nursing at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). She transitioned to full-time status in Fall 2012 after serving as a part-time lecturer since 2010. With a career spanning over three decades in nursing, she worked at UCI’s telemetry unit and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center’s CCU/CVICU, where she also served as staff developer for five years. Her expertise lies in ICU nursing and nursing education.
Education includes a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Nurse Educator option from California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), a BSN from CSUDH with a Public Health Certificate (Magna Cum Laude), and a nursing diploma from LAC-USC. Her clinical teaching experience includes roles at Cerritos College and Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Notable achievements include the 2009 and 2014 Distinguished Nurse of the Year awards from Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and the Bud Moore Education Award. She is an active member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
