Wendy Cheng is Professor and Chair of American Studies at Scripps College, with affiliations in Asian American Studies. She holds a PhD from USC, MA from UCLA, and AB from Harvard. Her research examines race, space, diaspora, and suburban formations. She is author of award-winning books including 'The Changs Next Door to the Díazes' and 'Island X'.
Her honors include the American Sociological Association Book Award, Globe Book Award for Public Understanding of Geography, and excellence in research awards. She co-edits the People's Guide book series and serves on editorial boards of major journals.
