Professor Wendy Burn is a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, National Mental Health Advisor to Health Education England, and Visiting Professor at Chester University. She co-chairs the Royal College of Psychiatrists Gatsby Wellcome Neuroscience Project, chairs the Clinical group of Equally Well, and leads the World Psychiatric Association's Expert Group on COVID-19 Care for People with Mental Illness.
- Education: BM, MMedSc, FRCPsych; Honorary Fellowships (Academy of Medical Educators, Royal College of Psychiatrists); Doctor of Medicine honoris causa (University of Leeds, 2018).
Her research focuses on old age psychiatry and education, particularly modernizing neuroscience training for psychiatric professionals and improving physical health outcomes for people with serious mental illness. Recent work includes pandemic response strategies and stigma reduction in psychiatric recruitment.
