Wendy Bowles is a Professor in Social Work and Human Services at Charles Sturt University's School of Social Work and Arts, where she has worked since 1991. She serves as Course Director for Postgraduate Social Work programs and focuses on social work education, ecological social work, rural practice, ethics, and disability studies. Her research explores professional identity, ecosocial transitions, and social justice frameworks.
Her recent publications emphasize ethical research practices, international comparisons of ecosocial work, and professional identity development through scoping reviews and participatory action research. Wendy has received multiple awards, including the 2014 Faculty Leadership Excellence Award and the 2018 Australia & New Zealand Social Work Educator Award.
