About
Wen Ye is a Research Scientist in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She also serves as Assistant Director of SABER (Statistics and Analysis of Biomedical Evidence) and Associate Director of the Method and Measurement Core at the Michigan Center for Diabetes Translational Research (MCDTR). Her work bridges statistical methodology with applications in public health and clinical research.
- PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan (2006)
- MS in Pharmacology from the University of Toledo (1999)
- BS in Physiology and Biophysics from Peking University (1997)
Wen Ye's research focuses on biostatistical methodology for longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, joint modeling, and microsimulation models. Her applied work spans multiple domains:
- Diabetes research: modeling cardiometabolic risk factors, cost-effectiveness of prevention programs, and hypoglycemia risk factors.
- Pediatric liver diseases: studying biliary atresia, Alagille syndrome, and cystic fibrosis-related liver disease.
- Tuberculosis epidemiology: analyzing racial disparities and transmission patterns.
- Neurocognitive outcomes: examining post-stroke cognitive trajectories and education level impacts.
Her recent publications (2025) emphasize:
- Statistical innovations in integrating prediction models with time-to-event data
- Clinical applications in diabetes technology (hybrid closed-loop systems)
- Public health analysis of tuberculosis disparities
- Longitudinal studies of post-stroke cognitive decline
- Noninvasive diagnostics for liver disease progression
- Economic evaluations of diabetes and liver disease interventions
