Weiting Tao

Dr. Tao's educational background includes:

• Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Florida
• Master's degree in Mass Communication from the University of Florida

Her primary research area is corporate public relations, with a focus on how public relations can help corporations survive and thrive in turbulent markets and evolving media environments. She employs an interdisciplinary approach, blending public relations, consumer psychology, interpersonal communication, organizational communication, management, digital media studies, and international communication. Key research interests include corporate social responsibility, crisis communication and management, cross-cultural strategic communication, corporate reputation, relationship management, and social media strategies.

Dr. Tao has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including:

• Arthur W. Page Legacy Scholar grant for 2016-2017
• Arthur W. Page Legacy Scholar grant for 2017-2018
• Top paper awards at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC)
• Top paper awards at the International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC)

She has secured competitive research grants, notably the consecutive Arthur W. Page Legacy Scholar grants, and her work has been published in leading journals such as Communication Research, Public Relations Review, Journal of Communication Management, International Journal of Strategic Communication, and European Sport Management Quarterly. Dr. Tao actively contributes to the academic community through her research and conference presentations.
