Wei Lin

Wei Lin is a Professor of Art and Art History at Transylvania University, specializing in Chinese Buddhist art, Asian art history, and anime culture. She holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (2006), an M.A. in Archaeology from Beijing University (1994), and a B.A. in History and Archaeology from Nanjing University (1989). Lin teaches courses ranging from ancient Chinese art to modern anime, emphasizing interdisciplinary connections between history, archaeology, and visual culture.

Her research focuses on Buddhist cave temples from the Six Dynasties to the Tang dynasty, with notable studies on Qixiashan and Xumishan. Lin has led travel courses to China, blending fieldwork with academic exploration. She is a recipient of the Bingham Award for Excellence in Teaching (2012) and multiple faculty development grants. Lin advocates for liberal arts education, emphasizing close student-faculty relationships and rigorous research training.
