About
Dr. Wei Guo is Assistant Professor in Texas Tech University's Department of Mathematics and Statistics. His research develops dimension reduction techniques for high-dimensional problems using sparse grids and tensor methods, with applications to kinetic simulations and plasma physics. He earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Houston.
Current projects focus on structure-preserving algorithms for conservation laws, Vlasov dynamics, and adaptive numerical methods. He has developed open-source software for adaptive multiresolution discontinuous Galerkin methods and teaches courses in numerical analysis and differential equations.
He advises PhD students including Shadi Lakmini Heenatigala and Jannatul Ferdous Ema.
