Dr. Wayne Rasmussen serves as Associate Professor of Business Administration and Chairperson for New Program Development at The Master's University in the School of Business and Communication. He brings extensive experience from collegiate and professional sports administration, including leadership roles with the LA Galaxy, U.S. Men's National Soccer Team, and as Athletic Director at Eastern University. Previously, he founded the Sport Management program at Columbia International University.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Science in Education from Messiah University
- Master of Arts in Physical Education from Southern Methodist University
- Doctor of Education in Sport Administration and Management from Temple University
Dr. Rasmussen's research and professional interests center on Sport Management, blending academic rigor with practical application in professional sports, collegiate athletics, and youth sports administration. His work emphasizes integrating faith-based principles with leadership in the sports industry, preparing students for roles in sports management through innovative curriculum design and experiential learning opportunities.
As the leader of the feasibility study for TMU's new undergraduate Sport Management degree, Dr. Rasmussen is instrumental in expanding the university's academic offerings. He also serves as the Faculty Athletics Representative, ensuring athletic program compliance and supporting student-athletes.
Outside academia, Dr. Rasmussen has organized cycling tours and wilderness adventure trips, reflecting his commitment to outdoor leadership and experiential education.
