Wayne Franklin

Wayne Franklin is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Connecticut. His research focuses on American Literature from its origins through the 19th century, with specialties in American fiction, the novel, nonfiction prose, and nature writing. He holds office hours during Spring 2025 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00am-12pm, and by appointment.

Dr. Franklin's expertise spans literary analysis of foundational American texts and their historical contexts. His work engages with canonical and non-canonical works to explore themes of identity, environment, and cultural evolution in 19th-century America.
