Wangda Zhu

Dr. Wangda Zhu is an Assistant Professor at the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Previously, he served as a Postdoc Associate at the University of Florida, focusing on AI in design and education. He earned his PhD and Master from Cornell University (College of Human Ecology and College of Architecture, Art, and Planning) and holds dual bachelor’s degrees from Zhejiang University in Computer Science and Architecture.

His research explores creative systems design, AI-powered learning technologies, and design research methodologies. Recent work focuses on generative AI applications in education, teachable agents, and social networking tools for inclusive learning. He leads the Learning Experience Design (LxD) Lab and has published in journals like Computers & Education and BJET, earning Best Paper Nominations at LAK, ASEE, and EDRA. Dr. Zhu actively seeks Postdocs, PhD students, and Research Assistants with backgrounds in computer science or human-computer interaction for projects on learning system design.
