Walter Quintero

Walter Quintero is a Research Scientist and IT Team Lead at Florida International University's Applied Research Center (ARC). With 20+ years in IT and engineering, he manages projects for DOE Environmental Management and DOD cybersecurity initiatives. His research focuses on enterprise systems for web/mobile platforms, database applications, and emerging cybersecurity frameworks.

Quintero holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Management. He directs ARC's mentor-protégé programs including ERP evaluations and Microsoft deployments, while mentoring STEM students in development/security projects. Current investigations explore generative AI applications in autonomous systems and natural language processing.

As project lead, he oversees teams developing solutions for energy sector challenges and national security applications. His work bridges academic research with practical implementation in government and industry collaborations.
