Walid El Hefny serves as a Research Fellow at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research (IWM) within the Language and AI in Education Lab since January 2025. He is a core contributor to the AI2Teach project (2020-2026), maintaining FeedBook—an intelligent tutoring system for English as a foreign language instruction.

As part of the Language and AI in Education Lab, he collaborates on multimodal interaction frameworks and AI-driven pedagogical innovations. His prior experience includes four years as a teaching assistant/researcher at the German University in Cairo followed by two years as a research associate in the Computational Linguistics department at the University of Tübingen.
