Waleed Alameri

Dr. Waleed Alameri is an Associate Professor and Associate Provost for Student Affairs at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. His academic affiliation lies in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, where he focuses on reservoir engineering and EOR/IOR methodologies. He joined the university in May 2015.

• BSc (2006) in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University
• MSc (2010) and PhD (2015) in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines

His research emphasizes reservoir engineering and EOR techniques, particularly low-salinity waterflooding, CO2-EOR optimization, and polymer injectivity studies. He integrates machine learning and nanoscale experimental tools to enhance recovery efficiency in carbonate reservoirs.

Major funded projects include:

• Evaluation of polymers for EOR applications ($108,843, Khalifa University)
• CO2-EOR optimization with AI ($749,788, Khalifa University)
• Residual oil evaluation in Abu Dhabi reservoirs ($4,000,000, ADNOC)

Dr. Alameri has led research initiatives involving dynamic/static adsorption studies, rheology experiments, and AI-driven simulations. His work addresses challenges in polymer injectivity, CO2-additive interactions, and pore-scale analysis through neutron scattering.

He has directed the Freshman Year Experience Program at Petroleum Institute (2016–2018) and teaches courses such as Advanced Reservoir Engineering (PGEG613), Reservoir Engineering I & II (PEEG331, PEEG334), and Reservoir Fluid Properties (PEEG219).
