Volker Epping

Prof. Dr. Volker Epping is a full Professor and Chairholder of the Chair of Public Law, International and European Law at Leibniz University Hannover, Faculty of Law. His work focuses on constitutional law, human rights, international law, and higher education law. He leads research on fundamental rights (Grundrechte), European Union law, and the intersection of legal systems. Recent publications include analyses of judicial protections, privacy rights, and institutional frameworks. Epping’s team won the “Spirit of the Jessup Award” in 2019 for their moot court participation. His research also addresses legal aspects of higher education governance and the integration of international law into domestic frameworks.
